While Bail Bond Fugitive Recovery Agents are often referred to as Bounty Hunters, they are actually part of the commercial bail bond industry specific to the United States, and regulated primarily by their state of operation. These professionals are represented by the National Association of Fugitive Recovery Agents. Members of the International Bounty Hunter Union are bounty hunters that operate in the international realm, tracking fugitives wanted by governments worldwide, and recovering high value assets for private individuals and corporations, as well as assisting with locating and extracting individuals from hostile situations.
In addition to apprehending fugitives our members provide a variety of services to both governments and the private sector. These services include intelligence gathering, skip tracing, human trafficking interdiction, kidnapping victim recovery, person at risk extractions and high value asset recovery.
The Rewards for Justice Program is administered by the U.S. Department of State. They do not accept direct applications or claims for rewards. Certain government agencies i.e. the Diplomatic Security Service, Defense Department or Department of Justice must petition for the payment of rewards to an individual or individuals. The program does not sanction bounty hunting, however there are no restriction on reward payments being made to bounty hunters through the program.
The United States and the Philippines are the only two countries that have a legal framework conducive to bounty hunting. However, governments in other countries can sanction bounty hunting in specific cases. In some instances activities may be limited to skip tracing and intelligence gathering.
